Mrs Armstrong (Subject Leader)
History is alive and well and being enjoyed in St. Benedict's College. History is studied by all pupils in Years 8 to 10 and during this time they have opportunities to use a range of historical sources including printed sources, artifacts, videos, pictures, photographs, music, buildings, actual sites and printed sources.
Pupils are involved in questioning, analysing I.T. databases, project work and organising materials for wall displays etc. These 'source and evidence based' activities provide the opportunity to understand how developments at local, national and international levels have helped shape the structure of our present society.
The History Department offers a two year course for Years 11 and 12 leading to the G.C.S.E. examination.
