The first hurling tournament
of the year got off to a thrilling start for the years 8 and 9 team in Owenbeg
on 4th October.

With quite a high number of capable Year 8 pupils such as Charlie Mc Cann, Paul Mc Closkey,
Tristan Mc Cann and Patrick Neeson the team were confident in producing a
positive performance in the Ulster Blitz.

With a small number of players missing the team accounted themselves well with Caolan Hughes,
Odhran Murray, Tara Hamill and Susan Mc Ilroy the best performers on the day.

The highlight of the day was the second hand performance against Loreto, who were strongly fancied,
where the team scored five goals in a frenetic ten minute period to win by the
narrowest of margins.

We narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Ulster semi-finals but still a good day out; despite the wind and
